DANVILLE — A local man has been found dead in Vermilion County.
The body of Jose Alberto Lopez-Fernandez of Champaign, 23, was recovered from the Middle Fork River at 9:05 a.m. Tuesday by the Vermilion County Sheriff’s Office and Illinois Conservation Police, said Vermilion County Coroner Jane McFadden.
According to McFadden, Lopez-Fernandez was last seen Sunday afternoon at Kickapoo State Park in the river. His family has been notified, and an autopsy has been scheduled.
