A good but exhausting night at work last night. But I got home and took a longer than normal nap, so I was a bit behind on my Gems of War session. And a not-as-good session this morning. Just a lot of bad RNG, battles taking a lot longer than they should (basically, low-level easy battles taking about as long as tough high-level battles). Dailies were almost as big of a struggle as blood frenzy PvP. And I did manage to do a bit of the weekend Faction Assault as well. But by this time I was getting pretty cranky. Still had other stuff I had to do as well.

Watched a DAMN good but censored (side note: Normally when people censor their stuff on their videos, I stop watching them immediately. And if they're especially egregious about it - censoring their mouths as well when they curse, blurring out logos/faces/signs, especially when it's enough to make it look like their video is out of focus, and so on - I block/unsub the channel. This was one of those VERY rare instances where I let it slide) documentary on one of my favorite programs: STREETBEEFS, a grass-roots MMA/boxing "promotion". Good stuff! Nice to see combat sports as something other than just going after prize money. :)>

Oh, and I also played a bit of Vampire Survivors later on in the afternoon too, doing a few runs in the new area. Unlocked a few items and characters as well.

A pretty good Gems stream this morning, with djscrew361, jayhotlaps (he's picked up this game recently. Awesome!), and kf6dbs all coming by for some chat.

But anyway, to start, I did about 2 hours of PvP in the "Purple Blood Frenzy" kingdom (Blood Frenzy = Opponents have 50% higher stats, but give double the rewards) until the reset hit. And I'm STILL in 1st place, the first time this has happened! Usually I'm in first for only a short time, when a whole bunch of people overtake me and knock me down a peg (or two, or three, or four etc. lol).

But, after that, I got going on the dailies (I also gave Jay a rundown of how I do them as well). Got those done, and did the world event too. And I hit the weekend Faction Assault afterwards. Came up short on this one, so I'll have to start tonight's stream fairly early in the hopes of finishing up.

And later on, I kept plugging away on Vampire Survivors, trying out some of the new characters. They're all right, I guess. I'd say the three I played are mid-upper tier. It seems the theme for the current DLC is stat synergies, armor increases damage, shot speed increases damage etc. There's still a bunch of other characters I need to unlock though, as well as a new stage. We'll see how it goes.

Started watching an all-time classic movie called One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Man, practically an all-star cast! Jack Nicholson, Danny DeVito, Brad Dourif (did the voice of Chucky), Christopher Lloyd, and some other familiar faces I don't know the names of. I wonder, for how many of them, this was their first ever big movie.

A real good Gems stream this morning. A really social sesh this time, with weirdness_is_good (good to see him. Been a while!), djscrew361, jayhotlaps, Lmartyr, astralataraxy, and Delcun, all coming by at various points. :)>

And for the stream itself it was a pretty busy one. I started with the Faction Assault, trying to get that all the way done before the reset. Got it all done, with about a half an hour to spare, after which I just did some PvP until the reset kicked in. And it's a new week, this time centered around the "Pan's Vale" kingdom, a kingdom of satyrs and bunny people (basically Au Ra and Viera). So, got the dailies done, like always. Then it was time for the week long Invasion event, which became one of the easier ones to do, since I can use some fairly powerful troops for this.

Did a bit of PvP as well in the "Red blood frenzy" kingdom using my Zuul'Goth team. Initially I had my doubts (It's better to kneecap the opponent's whole team with my Gray King team than to one-shot a single enemy, leaving the other 3 enemies alive to f*ck your team up), but it wasn't so bad. I actually won more than I lost. :O>

Eventually though I had to call it off, due to getting groggy, as well as having a bunch of stuff to do this morning.

Tried playing a game called Summoners War, an AFK-like RPG game that Lmartyr often asks me to play. Not a big fan. Mechanically, it's okay. Aesthetically, it's that cutesy booby anime - like, EVEN MORE than FF XIV! - that was meant for the 12-25 year old market, and definitely not for a 52 year old like myself. It also has username issues as well, not letting me use "Joe Schmoe" because it's too offensive (!) BIG TIME turn-off for me (I've quit trying out games that don't let me do this)! It also seems to be very cash-grabby. But as one whose played Gems of War for 5 years now this is nothing I'm not used to.

There's actually a lot more to complain about. But to sum it all up, the negatives outweigh the positives. I might play more, but only on a limited basis.

Oh, and I'm still watching Cuckoo' Nest. About a half hour in. And yeah, I think the head nurse actually enjoys trolling the inmates lol. I'll definitely keep watching though.

So, that's it for now. <Take care>, everyone! And have yourselves a good night/day. ;)>
